Hierarchial Dominance 

The scale and materiality of christ church from the town square resembles the dominance of the church, in terms of its history and culture.

Geographical Influence

The melacca river and the row of shophouses along demonstrates the geographical influence the city had on trading and how the lives of the people are connected to the river 

Linearity of the street 

Linearity of the street and its architecture elements such as the windows used in the five foot way, makes the shopping street more welcoming the pedestrians

Horizontality and repitition

The horizontality of the street and the repetitiveness of the shophouses gives the street a sense of unity in terms of its urban fabric. 

Programmatic Adjancies

Alignments in terms of buildings programs in the street gives the street a homogenous characteristic

Transparency of interiority/exteriority 

The use of fiveftooway in most of the melacca street gives a sense of transparency between inside /outside, private/public

Reminent of the past

The melacca river, which inlfluenced the lives of the melacca citizens in terms of economy, history and culture, A reminent of the past.

Cultural diffusal 

Shophouses and townhouses in the city of melacca has similr planning. However, the difference in the details, such as the architectural style, and social acivities that takes place in the street resemble the cultural diffusal in Melacca 

Religious Pluralism

Many of the streets in Melacca, such as the temple street, consist of mosque, churches and temples which resemble religious pluralism in Melacca
